OPSEC Airsoft: The podcast that just won’t die

Remember when OPSEC Airsoft, “The official voice of SoCal Airsoft”, quit in 2006? Then again in 2008? Then yet again in 2011? Well, it looks like Radar and crew are firing up the mics yet again for 2012. They posted the an announcement on their homepage a few weeks ago, explaining why they are coming back and what the listeners can expect. Here’s an excerpt, check out the full article here.

The last official word was that it would be a cold day in hell before you saw another OPSEC Airsoft podcast/show released. Grab your gloves and sleds kiddies, because in 2012, hell is freezing over! The logic behind yet another comeback cannot really be explained other than nostalgia and “the itch.” It sounds strange but OPSEC Airsoft runs through my veins and no matter how many times I “quit” I will never be truly done. That being said, let’s get on with what we are cooking up for 2012!

In this economy, there is no shortage of qualified, knowledgeable airsofters out there looking to make a buck on the side. Why not use their airsoft info to make ends meet? On the flip side, some airsofters just can’t make it to the local gun smiths to get their items worked on or the shops simply don’t offer the services players are looking for. Community memeber and Jericho Airsoft field owner tricklowe posted Jericho’s latest event, Op. Covert Strike taking place at Jericho Lake Elsinore on July 30 & 31st:

Jericho airsoft presents a 2 day overnight operation, including massive scale might games utilizing vehicles, a dawn raid, on site camping, etc.

PLOT:

Hector Yurasikovich and his group of political extremists have been hunted by the Kosovan military for the past 15 years for war crimes such as ethnic cleansing. They’ve been tracked to the remote eastern European town of Jerichovia.

USFORS & SPecialist European Forces have been called to intervene and assist in the capture of these criminals in a two day co-operative mission, utilizing stealth and covert tactics.

Game: SDAirsoft’s Night Game

Community member Overkill posted details on SDAirsoft.com‘s upcoming night game taking place on September 3rd at Mr. Paintball in Escondido, CA. The short version is posted below with the long version over on the forum:

Night Game will be limited to 150 players.

You will have the following play/pay options:

- Night game only: $25 if you pre-register.
If you wait until the last minute and pay when you arrive, the cost is $30

- Play Saturday day and the night game $40 (Save $5 off the Saturday day admission)

- Play the night game, camp out at Mr. PB and play Sunday $45 (Save the $10 camping fee)

- Play Saturday day, the night game, camp out and play Sunday $60 (save $5 of admission and the $10 camping fee)

The only players who will be allowed to camp out are the ones that have prepaid to play Sunday. If you did not pay for Sunday, you have to pack up and go when the Night Game is over.
