Got another Senate Bill they (De Leon) are trying to sneak through this coming Tuesday, April 17th! This is a re-write of the later amendment of SB798 which is going to try to allow cities to make up their own definitions of what’s considered a firearm. This would effect airsoft directly in that cities could classify airsoft as a firearm and cause legal issues for airsoft players directly.

SB1315 Info is here: Link

Please call the CA Senators listed below to voice your strong opposition against SB1315. There’s not time for letters or petitions, so please call ASAP!

Dr. Airsoft writes:
SB 1315 is scheduled to come before the California State Senate Public Safety Committee April 17, 2012. Please call the list of State Senators below if you are a California voter. You may use the script below. Most of the time you will just leave a message. Senator Price’s office may ask you for alternatives to this bill. One alternative is to work together with the industry to have requirements of the retailers selling these guns so airsoft specialty stores have an advantage over big box stores.

    You may use this script:

“I am (your name). My zip code is (your zip code)/ Please oppose SB 1315 which proposes to allow LA County to be unique among all municipalities in the State of California to restrict freedoms related to airsoft and small caliber paintball guns. This was tried last year on the state level with SB 798, which failed to pass. I share with Senator De Leon, the author of the bill, the desire to get airsoft guns out of the hands of unattended minors in public, but this bill is not the way to do it. The Airsoft Safety Foundation and Airsoft Medicine would like to work together with Senator De Leon to make this happen.”

Here is the list of Senators on the Public Safety Committee with the phone numbers I found to work:

    Hancock (916) 651-4009

    Anderson (951) 676-1020

    Calderon (916) 651-4030

    Harman (916) 651-4035

    Liu (916) 651-4021

    Price (916) 651-4026

    and Steinberg (916)651-4006

OPSEC Airsoft, "The Official Voice of SoCal Airsoft" is resuming operation in 2012... yet again.

Remember when OPSEC Airsoft, “The official voice of SoCal Airsoft”, quit in 2006? Then again in 2008? Then yet again in 2011? Well, it looks like Radar and crew are firing up the mics yet again for 2012. They posted the an announcement on their homepage a few weeks ago, explaining why they are coming back and what the listeners can expect. Here’s an excerpt, check out the full article here.

The last official word was that it would be a cold day in hell before you saw another OPSEC Airsoft podcast/show released. Grab your gloves and sleds kiddies, because in 2012, hell is freezing over! The logic behind yet another comeback cannot really be explained other than nostalgia and “the itch.” It sounds strange but OPSEC Airsoft runs through my veins and no matter how many times I “quit” I will never be truly done. That being said, let’s get on with what we are cooking up for 2012!

In this economy, there is no shortage of qualified, knowledgeable airsofters out there looking to make a buck on the side. Why not use their airsoft info to make ends meet? On the flip side, some airsofters just can’t make it to the local gun smiths to get their items worked on or the shops simply don’t offer the services players are looking for. This is why Gigs & Services was created and with any luck, will take off, bringing players together helping one another out.

Comparable systems run you into the $150 range and with a value kit like this entering the scene, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more claymores deployed in-game. Watch where you step!

1:1 Scale Replica Claymore

Activate by Wireless Remote Control which can paired with 4 set of mines in a time
