OPERATION: SHADOW BOXER 23 JUL 2011

As the sun sinks into the sky over the Iraqi town of Zarbatya, the twilight stillness is shattered by an explosion overhead. As the residents look to the sky, a second explosion rocks the town, and a fireball, trailing smoke, can be seen hurtling towards the ground, tracking towards the east, towards the border with Iran.

Just across the border, in the Iranian town of Mehran, Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces begin to mobilize. They could be at the impact site in a few minutes, but they have been told to wait. A commander from the Iranian special forces group, Quds Force, is on the way to personally take charge of the mission. While the ground troops complain, their opportunity to slip across the border unnoticed vanishes as quickly as the setting sun.

Nearby, in Baghdad, a quiet chaos descends. The Americans are mobilizing one of their Special Forces teams for a rescue mission. This flurry of activity was brought about because of a simple mechanical error. An E-8 JSTARs aircraft has crashed, and there is no one to blame. The aircraft carried top-secret radar and combat management systems, plus a crew of 18. No one knows if any of the systems are salvageable, or if any of the crew is alive. UNIFORMS

American Special Forces: Any TAN based uniform. This includes US 3 color desert, US 6 color Desert, Desert MARPAT, and Multicam

Iranian Revolutionary Guards: Any GREEN based uniform. This includes US Woodland, Woodland MARPAT, and ACU.

WEAPON GUIDELINES
DFF’s standard Chrono Rules will apply. 400 FPS is the MAXIMUM allowed.

Due to the nature of this event, SNIPER RIFLES (bolt action and semi-auto guns shooting in excess of 400 fps) will NOT be allowed.

In an effort to promote realism, this is a NON-WINDING MAG event. The only weapons allowed to use winding, high-capacity magazines are approved Light Machine Guns. Otherwise, IF IT WINDS, LEAVE IT BEHIND!

Approved LMGs must be faithful reproductions of real-steel Light Machine Guns. The current list of approved LMGs includes:
M249 SAW (all variants)
M240 (all variants)
M60 (all variants)
RPK
RPD
PKM
MG36

EYE PROTECTION: Eye protection must be ANSI z87.1 rated or better and conform closely to the face. While it is not required, it is STRONGLY recommended that players wear full face protection.

Remember, this is a night game, so BRING A FLASHLIGHT! Red lightsticks will be issued at check-in for use as a dead rag.

EDIT TO ADD: Just got done talking to Jet, and all those attending OP: Shadow Boxer will get half price admission to the DFF MOUT field on Sunday, 24 JUL 11. Additionally, any who plan to play the next day may camp out at the field. Hope to see you all there.
